I am currently enrolled at the University of North Florida and my life is dedicated to design. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and graduating in May of 2022. My personal career objective is to positively advance communities through the intricate design process. With an internship at a local civil engineering firm, England-Thims and Miller Inc., I am able to shadow professional engineers in various departments, aiding the progression of public and private projects throughout Florida. As of 2017, I am certified in AutoCAD and now, with my growing experience in the field, I have had the opportunity to gain fluency in Microsoft Office, Hydraflow Extension, Revit, Civil 3D, SketchUp and other design programs.
Aside from internships and academics, I am an advocate for the encouragement of women's diversity in STEM. I have had opportunities to travel locally with my mentor and others, speaking publicly to a range of young students about the intriguing paths of STEM. Being a Hispanic woman in engineering, I hope to inspire and encourage other young women to pursue their STEM related career goals and promote positive change regarding the gender diversity ratio. Although my major is civil engineering, my goal as an aspiring engineer is to explore the various diverse fields of STEM and experience new processes and concepts to broaden my knowledge and skill sets. The purpose of this website is to showcase my work progression as I gain more knowledge in the field. |
